Greetings fellow Skålleagues,

With half the year now behind us (where on earth did that go?!) it’s been inspiring to see Skål clubs across the country continue to show up, connect, and champion the power of doing business among friends. Whether it’s a business lunch with an impressive speaker (like Hobart’s sellout July event), an active outing (a la Brisbane’s upcoming golf day), or a high-energy fundraiser (Melbourne’s mid-winter trivia extravaganza springs to mind), it’s clear that our clubs are building momentum — and impact.

Our National Assembly in Adelaide is just around the corner, and if you haven’t yet registered, this is your final sign! Seriously, bookings close in just a few days. Beyond the official business, these events are where the real magic happens — friendships deepen, new collaborations spark, and we’re reminded why this global network is such a valuable part of our professional lives.

Meanwhile, I want to give a personal shoutout to Skål Sydney on their recent Club of the Year nomination — a well-deserved recognition of the energy, innovation, and commitment they bring to the Skål brand.  Their ongoing efforts to connect with industry, collaborate across sectors, and highlight member achievements through social media are a fantastic example of modern engagement done right.   Love your work, Team Sydney!

As we look ahead, I encourage all clubs to keep strengthening those vital industry ties. Whether it’s inviting guest speakers, partnering with local operators, or showcasing members and sponsors through your events and platforms, every connection helps position Skål as an essential part of the tourism landscape — and a trusted voice within it.
